Acne scars have a drastic consequence on the sense of worth of a person. A lot of us, in our adolescence, may have suffered from an acute case of acne; it is one of those unlucky and soul-burning personal rites of passage most of us had to go through while growing up. Foremost, we had to cope with the crimson pustules called pimples, and then, we had to face the scarring that is finally left behind.

Grime and sebum can clog skin pores, producing a condition welcoming to bacteria. The bacteria , in turn, cause zits.

Once we get over the pimples, we have to deal with the scars. Although there are acne scars that disappear with time, some do not. Living with these scars on our own faces can be a miserable experience.

There are 4 varieties of scarring caused by acne. Ice pick scars got their name because they leave pit-like marks on the skin’s surface. Boxcar scars are usually spread over on the sides of the head and the cheeks, and they could resemble scars left after a case of chickenpox.
