Quick and proper treatment of a skin boil is very important because if left untreated they can spread or worse become infected. And once it becomes infected, you’ll probably need antibiotics. There are quite a few natural boil treatment tips that are quick and effective. But, before trying a home treatment of boils be sure it’s not swollen or infected — if so, the infection must be drained carefully by a qualified physician who can lance a boil safely.
Most people don’t know what a boil is. While it looks like a big red pimple, a boil is really a skin abscess that is filled with highly infectious bacteria called Staphylococcus Aureus. Skin Boils – Home Treatment For Boils
One popular home remedy for skin boils is to use an onion compress. To make this compress you need to extract the juice of 1 to 3 garlic cloves. Then apply this juice to the head of the boil and cover it loosely with a band-aid. Leave this compress on until the head of the boil becomes soft and it can be wiped away with a wash cloth and water. Make sure to check the boil often as garlic is very strong and can burn the skin if left on too long. If you feel a burning or stinging sensation, then remove the band-aid and rinse well.
Another compress to try is an onion compress. Press a sliced onion until you obtain a few drops of onion juice. Apply this onion juice to the head of the boil and cover loosely with a band-aid. As with the garlic compress leave this juice on until the head is soften and can be easily removed with a wash cloth and warm water. You can combine the juice of onions and garlic together for faster results. But again, if you skin stings or burns remove immediately.
Another natural treatment for boil is castor bark. To do this, simply grind up the castor bark into powder form and add a small amount of warm water to make it into a paste. Apply this paste and cover with a band-Aid. You can also use turmeric powder mixed with warm water and make a paste and apply this on or around the boil. Cover with a band-aid and leave it on until it’s soft and can be easily removed with a dry wash cloth and warm water.
